My Thoughts on International Women’s Day

At the risk of pissing some people off, I am going to write this anyway. First of all, I don’t think anybody, anybody at all, deserves an international day merely because they possess a particular reproductive organ. If they do, then men, and their accompanying necessary organ for the reproduction of the human race, should get a day too.

The constant congratulating of people is just annoying. Oh! Yeah! You’re a fighter! Well, damn it; aren’t we all? I mean, anybody who is surviving in a relatively decent state of moral existence is a fighter. Hey, anybody who makes it longer than 20 years in this world is a fighter. We are all fighters! And just because I have a vagina doesn’t mean I fight harder than the rest.

Yes, I know, that as a gender we have been abused, mistreated, neglected and everything you can imagine. Why do we celebrate it? This day, seems to me a reminder of all that victimization that need not be. And the places where the women are really oppressed, well I’m pretty sure they give a rats ass about this day or anything the women of the rest of the world have to say.

And as abuse comes… every single race in the world has been subjected to some kind of abuse or other by WHITE MEN! Oh yes! The native americans, the dear Taíno indians who are no more, the black people of Africa, orientals, jews, native latin american indians… Everybody!

Are we giving a day to everybody?

So thank you very much for congratulating me because I was born with a vagina. I feel all that much better now…
